week on Afterglow it’s “Vote for Prez,”
featuring a new collection of tenor saxophonist Lester Young’s
late-1930s recordings with the Count Basie big band. We’ll
also hear music from singer Dianne Reeves’ new CD When
You Know and new recordings from vocalist Karrin Allyson
and pianist Brad Mehldau. “Vote for Prez” airs
Friday, May 2 at 10:05 p.m. on WFIU.
