 This
week on Afterglow we continue program founder Dick
Bishop’s “Songs of the Season” tradition
with a show of songs about the springtime. We’ll hear
music from Nat King Cole, June Christy, Blossom Dearie (two
spring songs written by big-band singer Dick Haymes’
brother Bob), Dexter Gordon, Ben Webster, Mel Torme, Chet
Baker, Sarah Vaughan, Billie Holiday, and many more. “Songs
of the Season: Spring” airs Friday, April 6 at 10:05
p.m. EST on WFIU.
Afterglow airs every Friday evening at 10:05 p.m.
EST on WFIU. Broadcasts are made available for listening
at any time the following week in the Afterglow
archives.
