WFIU Presents
Afterglow

Hoagy!

In November 1999 WFIU broadcast a one-hour documentary about the life and music of Bloomington-born songwriter Hoagy Carmichael. The program was written, produced, and hosted by Tom Roznowski (creator of the series Hometown) and featured interviews with Carmichael biographer Richard Sudhalter, Indiana University's Chairman of Jazz Studies David Baker, and Piano Jazz host Marion McPartland. Hoagy!

Each November on Afterglow we'll honor Carmichael's birthday (November 22) on the broadcast closest to that date with a special "Hoagy Carmichael Songbook" program.
For more about Hoagy Carmichael, visit Indiana University’s Hoagy Carmichael Collection online, which includes many digitalized photographs, writings, and audio as well.
