Beverage Sales an Election Bellwether?

The tiny town of Story, Indiana is about half an hour southeast of Bloomington.  It’s technically unincorporated and the town consists of a bed and breakfast, centered around a Civil War-era restaurant called the Story Inn.

Bartenders at the Story Inn created two drinks this fall as caricatures of the presidential candidates.  WFIU’s Stan Jastrzebski sampled both drinks before Election Day and reports they were slyly representative of each candidate and overall sales proved good predictors for the nationwide contest itself.

  1. Cindy Seigle Says:

Good thing the drinks were sampled before election day as the law will not allow alcohol sales on election day from 6am to 6pm!
