Interesting! At first this didn’t make sense to me, as the only versions of Bohemia which I know are by the Adderleys, where the opening riff is taken by alto and cornet and any similarity to So What’s opening bass riff isn’t obvious. However, having followed Myers’ Amazon sampler link to the Pettiford original, where the leader’s bass carries the opening line, I can certainly hear what he’s talking about.
