Adam Schwartz
Editor, Directions In Sound/Producer
|
Adam Schwartz is WFIU's jack of all trades. As editor
for WFIU's monthly program guide, Directions in Sound, Adam
oversees all facets of editorial production, including writing articles
and taking photos.
Adam is a contributor to WFIU's hour-long interview program Profiles.
He finds guests, does research, and conducts interviews. His guests
have included musician/composer Sarah Stevens, television producer
and author Bob Shanks, travel writer Sally McKinney, and meditation
teacher and author Dean Sluyter.
It is Adam's voice you hear doing WFIU's underwriting announcements
and Days of Dedication, having taken over the mantle from Robert
Lumpkin (whose voice can still be heard on some of the underwrites).
Each November during fund drive, WFIU plays Adam's award-winning
comedic spots, which feature local actors and musicians. Adam also
produced the listener testimonials that are played during the drive.
Adam is a news hound as well, having produced features for WFIU's
news department. He's reported on political activism among Indiana's
Native American Community, the art community's response to September
11th, and student transience in area schools. In addition, Adam's
freelance pieces have been broadcast on "Talking History,"
the Voice of America, and the BBC.
When he's not juggling several jobs at the station, Adam keeps
busy producing videos for IU's Adaptive Technology Center and working
on his own writing projects.
