Yaël Ksander - Announcer/Producer
Yaël
Ksander hosts music and talk programs throughout the day on WFIU,
produces audio features on musicians and artists for Artworks, and
writes the essays that are read on A Moment of Indiana History,
which airs on all of Indianas public radio stations. Yaël
especially delights in her role as Don Glass sidekick on A
Moment of Science, which may be heard around the world on such networks
as Deutsche Welle and Armed Forces Radio. Yaël also enjoys
getting to know the listeners who submit commentaries for Speak
Your Mind, as well as those who contact the station with the comments
she compiles for broadcast on Saturday mornings.
Yaël came to WFIU in 2000 after having volunteered for two
years at Bloomingtons community radio station WFHB, where
she hosted a weekly rock-and-roll program. She holds an MFA in painting
from Indiana University, an MA in art history from Columbia University,
and a BA from the University of Virginia, where she studied modern
literature, languages, and studio art. Yaël was raised in Washington,
D.C.
